Since the ILI English
Department is committed to keep its high quality, it endeavors
to select its teaching staff among the best available applicants
who are highly motivated and have excellent command of English.
Approved applicants will have to take a written (multiple

2. Cloze test
3. Grammar
4. Vocabulary
5. Reading comprehension
Those who pass the test will be invited for an interview.
Upon satisfactory interview results and depending on the written
test grades, the applicants will either take part in the short
term (two weeks) or the long term (six months) Teacher Training
Course. (T.T.C.).
A. The Short Term T.T.C.
This is an intensive two-week training course that concentrates
on acquainting the participants with the teaching procedure at
the two sections; young adults and adults. The trainees are
provided with all needed guidelines to teach according to the
ILI adopted methodology.
Subjects like class management skills, psychology of teaching,
techniques in presenting the material and checking and
evaluating the students performances are discussed.
B. The Long Term T.T.C.
This is a six-month (two terms) course in which the chief aim is
to train qualified English teachers for the ILI.
The course includes extensive work on the following:
a. Listening & Speaking
b. Reading & Vocabulary

The trainees are evaluated based on class activities, a series
of written quizzes, and finally a comprehensive exam. Upon
successful completion, they will take part in a short term
course which mainly concentrates on acquainting the participants
with the teaching procedure at the two sections; young adults
and adults.
Upon passing the long term T.T.C. and completing the short
course following it all trainees are required to teach simulated
classes and demonstrate their abilities to handle real classes
and cope with real situation problems.
The above mentioned simulated class teachings (demonstrations)
will be evaluated by a board of trainers. Admitted trainees may
