Tales from All over the World (I)

Folktales are relatively short stories found in almost all oral traditions of the world. They include fables, beast fables, legends, fairy tales, ghost stories, husband-and-wife tales, master-and-servant tales, and also stories of giants, goblins, devils and spirits. The tales presented in this collection come from different times and places, but they represent only a minute fraction of the age-old tradition of oral storytelling now on the decline.

 This book includes six stories:

1-     Which was the Witch?                     An Eerie Folktale from Korea

2-     The Master and the Worker               A Folktale from Armenia

3-     The Tale of the Broken Pot                An Indian Folktale

4-     Salt                                               A Folktale from Turkey

5-     The One You don’t See Coming          An African Folktale

6-     Rip Van Winkle                                An American Folktale
