Young Adults’ Department:                        the end of 4th grade of primary school

Guest Language Learners

Each language learner can take part in classes in the ILI branches other than the one he or she registered in for maximum number of 4 sessions consecutively or on two separate occasions.

Transfer to Other Branches

After finishing an educational term in an ILI branch, language learners are allowed to continue their courses in another ILI branch. The following terms apply in such cases:

-          Intra-city transfer is allowed during the intervals between terms, provided that the facilities are available in destination center/branch. Transfer charges apply.

-          Inter-city transfer is allowed, free of charge, prior to the 10th session in each educational term, provided that the facilities are available in destination center.

Educational Break

An undesired interval between two educational terms, interrupting the continuity of a learner’s education process, is called educational break. Such breaks may be categorized into three kinds: permissible, impermissible, and involuntary.

Permissible Break

This refers to language learners’ taking a permitted break envisaged at specific intervals between educational terms. The following is a detailed description of this kind of break by department:

a.       Language learners in the ILI Adults’ Department who successfully pass the levels of Basic 3, Elementary 3, as well as those learners at Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, High-Intermediate and Advanced levels who have successfully passed their previous terms can take a permissible break on one occasion in each level. Note that breaks in each level cannot be preserved for next levels.

b.      Language learners in the ILI Young Adults’ Department can take permissible educational break on one occasion in each level.

c.       Language learners in the ILI Children’s Department can take permissible educational break once at the end of each level. Note that learners in this department cannot take permissible break prior to Step 4.

Impermissible Break

Any kind of educational break contrary to the envisaged occasions mentioned above is referred to as impermissible break or dropout. In such cases, learners must retake the placement test after one term.

Involuntary Break

In case an ILI branch causes an interruption in learners’ education (e.g. if there are no classes available for a group of learners at a specific level), the branch head can record their break as involuntary.
