Dr. Mahdi Zolfaghari in an interview with Javan:
To truly tell the story of Iran, we must master the tools of language
The director of the Iran Language Institute emphasized that a true and accurate narrative of authentic Iranian civilization and culture requires language tools and mastery of educational diplomacy.
Dr. Mahdi Zolfaghari stated: “Many analysts of political, cultural, economic, and social issues in the world consider today's era to be the era of narratives. Meanwhile, countries that narrate their own stories directly in interaction with the nations of the world will certainly be more successful in establishing and strengthening their public position in the international system.”
“Our beloved country has inherent, civilizational, historical, cultural, unique, and honorable characteristics that must be narrated by our nation, especially the younger generation. Certainly, others' narration of Iran is not absolute and complete, and in some cases, it is even biased and incorrect.”
“Here we realize the importance of mass communication tools, and at the forefront of them, the important tool of language. Learning a language is not just a personal and intellectual skill, but also generates many opportunities for our country in various parts of the world.”
The director of the Iran Language Institute added: “This tool must be used in the correct hypertext to maximize its effectiveness. Here we are faced with a context called educational diplomacy, which revolves around education and aims to expand mutual understanding and appreciation, and create a positive image of our country in effective interaction with scientific, academic, and public centers around the world. The combination of such a context and such a tool (language) is the best possible combination for our effective storytelling of our vast and diverse country.”
