Dr. Mahdi Zolfaghari, Director of the Iran Language Institute, announced in an interview with Borna News Agency that the institution is expanding its activities in China and is working to establish an overseas branch in Beijing to promote scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.
According to Borna News Agency, after the scientific and cultural trip made by the Director of the ILI to Beijing and his attendance at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference, plans were made to expand this educational institution's activities in China, which could mark the beginning of a new chapter in international academic cooperation between Iran and China.
Referring to his recent trip to Beijing and attendance at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference, the Director of the Iran Language Institute discussed productive talks with officials from Chinese educational and university centers to foster scientific and educational collaboration between the two countries.
Zolfaghari stated that the main goal of this trip was to explore the possibility of establishing an overseas branch of the ILI in China, adding, "On the sidelines of this conference, we had productive meetings with the directors of prominent Chinese academic centers, including Beijing and Shanghai universities. Negotiations were also held with Chinese officials to set up a branch of the Iran Language Institute in Beijing."
Highlighting the significance of these collaborations, he said, "During these meetings, it was announced that the ILI is prepared to broaden cooperation and utilize existing resources to conduct international language training courses."
The Director of the Iran Language Institute mentioned that opening a branch in China could effectively support Iranians there with educational services and offer classes to Chinese natives interested in learning the Persian language.
